Planning approved for Downland House

We’re pleased to share that our proposals for the sensitive remodelling and extension of Downland House in West Sussex have been approved.

This is a home with roots in the landscape and layers of history and so our approach has been one of care and clarity. We are removing unsympathetic additions, reworking the internal circulation, and introducing new elements that speak gently to the character of the original house.

The designs unite the site with a clearer sense of place: a new north-facing entrance courtyard, a subservient kitchen and orangery, and soft, vernacular detailing throughout. It’s a house being made ready for family life once more.
